Welcome to my personal website, I'm Jose Carmona (k-ant), conceptual digital artist.
Here you will find information about my biography and most representative works.
I work on concepts, the synthesis of the face, body, objects, ideas and landscapes made from a simple,
colourful and somewhat funny look with a conceptual touch. Part of my work is dedicated to the exploration
of other artistic languages with new digital techniques, always trying to incorporate some concept to the meaning of the work.
On the technique used I resort to a language of anti-art, the NOARTE, through the use of digital printing I express
a rejection of manuality, even so my creations claim the human intellectual authorship: the idea that is born in
the mind of the artist as the engine of creation with the proposal to look at the world, not as a complexity of
shapes and colours, but of meanings.
I often use repetition as a representation of the spirit of our times, the internet and the networks full of
objects and statistics in which successful models are repeated and cloned ad infinitum, overflowing the networks
with mimetic content. This idea is materialised in my works as an effect that, far from provoking rejection,
is fascinating, it is the same fascination that we feel when we contemplate the excess of what we like in the media.
In my works, the constant struggle between chaos and order, the simple and the complex, oblivion and memory,
the collective and the individual, the past and modernity, dualities which exist in every human being. As a
result of all these contrasts, my portraits are at the same time clear and diffuse.
My work is printed on canvas or high quality photographic paper and is also available as CDA
(Certified Digital Art).
I work with series and single pieces.
My work is currently exhibited in the
Babel gallery, Murcia, and at the
Bisel gallery, Cartagena.
